Hey guys!
Last week I saw my friends posted about the launching of NESCAFE Dolce Gusto in Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya, this is a machine that can produce coffee beverages like cappuccino, espresso, latte macchiato, to the non coffee beverages like nestea peach, milo, green tea latte, mocha, etc with the quality like what you always got in a cafe or a coffee shop. Looking at the very cute design and the function, I couldn’t help but to get myself one!
NESCAFE DOLCE GUSTO MINI ME
NESCAFE DOLCE GUSTO MINI ME
I got myself the ‘Mini Me’ type that costed IDR 1,999 million. This is one of the most affordable NESCAFE Dolce Gusto machine. Aside from Mini Me, there are also Oblo which costs IDR 1,699 million, Genio that costs IDR 2,199 million and also Drop with the highest price that costs IDR 3,599 million. These hot items are going to be the game changer as it introduces us to the Modern art of coffee, but in this blog post, I’ll be specifically talking about my Mini Me <3
I picked Mini Me mostly because of the stylish design, it is also very minimalistic and compact. It even weights less than two kg! For the dimension, Mini Me is 24.2 cm long, 16.1 cm wide and 30.7 cm tall. They have the colour black and white, but I chose the black one. It can produce both hot or cold cafe-quality beverage as easy as only using your finger, in less than a minute!
This automatic machine has a tank capacity for 0,8 lt, with maximum power 1500 watt and machine pressure at 15 bar. If you want to drink hot beverages, you can make it right away! Thanks to the Thermo Block technology that allows this machine to be heated in just 30 seconds! Not only that, it also has this Eco Mode System to save energy where it will turn off itself if you’re not using it after 5 minutes. How fascinating, right?
When I bought the Mini Me, I also bought some of the capsules, and now I’ll demonstrate to you guys on how to use this bad boy :
1. Fill the container with water
On filling up the water container, be careful to not fill it to the top, as there’s a line that indicates where to stop.
2. Turn on the NESCAFE Dolce Gusto machine
After you’ve connected the electrical socket (three feet), pressed the power button, and seen the indicator light change to red. It will blink for a few seconds, wait before continuing.
3.
The indicator lamp turns to
GREEN
4. Adjust the water according to the instructions on the capsules cover.
I chose the Cappuccino for my first go at making drinks with NESCAFE Dolce Gusto. This specific flavor takes two capsules – one for milk and the other espresso.
5. Open the capsule container
In order to insert the capsule, you have to remove the transparent plastic piece from the container (refer to my pictures below).
7. Prepare the glass and put it on the tray
8. Press the hot or cold button as preference
I opted for the hot setting, and I thought it would make a “click” sound when I slid it to the right; however, no sound is emitted. Instead, the coffee capsule begins extracting immediately after you slide it over.
9. Let your drink poured out until it's finished
10. Take your second capsule
If you look at the photo, there were holes in my capsule because I put the incorrect capsule into the container on my first try. When you press the button to secure the cover of the capsule, it also creates a hole in the cover of the capsule where water will be poured in.
11. Put the capsule back in and lock
12. Slide the hot or cold handle, and wait for the espresso to come out
13. Enjoy your drink!
The final product was fascinating; I didn’t expect to get three gradation colors from such a tiny machine. And even though I don’t usually drink coffee, NESCAFE Dolce Gusto makes a coffee that is enjoyable for even someone like me. So if I can enjoy it, then anyone can! I really can’t wait to try making other beverages from NESCAFE Dolce Gusto.
And it’s not only great to be put at home for your own, but it can definitely be one of your small business solution! For example : 1 box (16 capsules) worth IDR 119.900 which costs 1 capsule to be IDR 7.500. If you want to make one cappuccino or latte macchiato drink, you only need two capsules that costs you IDR 15.000 whereas in a cafe or coffee shop, you can sell it for IDR 30.000 – IDR 40.000 for a glass. So using NESCAFE Dolce Gusto for your home business will bring you profit for sure!

I have another version of this Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine, it's called Oblo. It brews coffee manually, so there is no panel to set when to stop brewing.
I have problem, the machine turn on after 2 min. but the user manual says 30 sec.
Also, the machine is made only for small coffees. If you want to make a long hot drink, eventually it will be duke warm—cold.
