Hey guys!
If you’re looking for something to do tonight, I’ve got the perfect suggestion for you! Tutto Bono has just opened today, and it would be perfect for a fun night out this weekend. So get yourself ready and read on through the rest of this blog post if you want to know more about the place!
Tutto Bono
Tutto Bono is the newest Italian Restaurant in Lenmarc Mall, west Surabaya that I would highly recommend you to visit. If you have been seeing the sign for this restaurant in front of Lenmarc but were wondering when it would open to the public, dear today is the day! And I’ll be more than happy to guide you through everything so don’t worry 🙂
So Tutto Bono is a semi-fine dining restaurant that serves Italian cuisine. The head chef is from Italy and they offer wine and alcoholic beverages. They have separate lounge and dining areas, as well as an outdoor smoking area. They are now open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a capacity of up to 204 people, but until they’re ready to expand the whole place, they’ll only take 60 people per day during their soft launch phase.
Tutto Bono interior design mixes classic and modern styles. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for spending an evening. I also love that they have an open kitchen so you can see how they work and how clean their station is. Plus, if you’re a fan of wine, be sure to check out their glass-enclosed wine room next to the lounge!
On that night, the owner greeted us very warmly and presented us with a glass of red wine as a starter before bringing out a specially prepared selection of their menu for everyone to try. But, I’d like to point out that in this post, I will only tell you about the dishes that I genuinely enjoy–the rest may be seen in my gallery. And please accept my apologies if there are any dish names that I don’t recall.
So, what did we try that night?
Tuscan Chicken Liver Pate
I actually didn’t know the name of this dish, and I figured it probably wasn’t for sale since it was just a starter snack. So how did I manage to find out? I googled the brief descriptions of the menu items, and it came up with this name. Basically, it’s various types of bread served with Chicken Liver Sauce. Even if you’re not fond of chicken liver like me, don’t be turned off–it doesn’t taste nearly as bad as one would think!
To properly enjoy this Tuscan Chicken Liver Pate, follow these steps. First, pour olive oil and balsamic vinegar on a plate then add the pate. After that, take any type of bread you like and dip it into the olive oil-balsamic vinegar mixture. Next, dab some pate onto the bread, and finally…enjoy! By reading this guide, you now know how to correctly eat an Italian starter! You’re welcome! <3
Antipasto Toscano
This platter is loaded with deliciousness, including bruschetta, chicken liver pate, olives, and meats. I, unfortunately, didn’t get to try this dish since there were a lot of us at that time, and the bruschetta got cleared out quickly. If you’re looking for a starter with more options though, this would be a great choice – perfect for sharing with friends.
Taglere di Affettati
This is another favorite of mine since I am a carnivore and enjoy eating meat. There were two different types of meat on this plate, with one tasting saltier than the other. (again, apologize for my lack of culinary expertise) Among the meat, there were some thin cheese slices that had been cut into a triangle shape, and there was a shot glass of honey to be poured on top of the meat as well on the platter. What does it taste like? IT TASTES DELICIOUS!
Insalata di Rucola
This dish was definitely one of the best dish that night! Everyone was praising this salad too. I don’t know how to put it into words, it was just very simple, yet incredibly refreshing. Every component of this salad just fit our palate perfectly. Enough said, this is an excellent starter for your Italian Dinner.
Spaghetti Shrimp
This one is also another crowd’s favorite. Everyone find this dish to be creamy and delicious without being heavy on the stomach. I generally don’t enjoy cream-based pasta, but I decided to give it a try and found that I liked it more than expected. 🙂
Ravioli di Ricotta e Spinaci con Burro e Salvia
This dish is absolutely delicious and not even on the menu! We have to thank Merli for ordering it for us, because it was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Some people joked that she was greedy, but I’m just grateful because this meal was SO GOOD. I used to not be a fan of Ravioli, but after trying this recipe I instantly fell in love. If you see it offered somewhere, definitely give it a try!
Bistecca Fiorentina
THIS ONE IS STUNNING! THE BEST ONE OF THE NIGHT!!
Trust me on this one, you’ve got to give it a go! Perfect with a glass of wine. There was a little debate among the group that night; some of us thought that the meat was too plain, that it needed to be more seasoned. But I love it just how it is – no extra flavoring needed whatsoever. In fact, I could eat this red meat alone— If you’re insistent on adding something for flavor, oil and vinegar are really all you need. Anything else would mask the taste of the meat entirely
After that, we also had some Risotto, Pizza and also some Desserts. To me, the the flavor was merely OK, and the photos were in awful quality even Lightroom couldn’t save them; therefore they may rest in peace in my Gallery, haha.. There were also a few beverages and cocktails available that night. I didn’t try any of them since I already drank wine; I didn’t want to mix any alcohol; I was already tipsy; and it’s never good for me to combine alcoholic beverages, not to mention I’m going to drive home, I don’t want to make things worse for me.
Overall, I would rate Tutto Bono 9/10
I really had a blast at Tutto Bono, the service was fantastic, and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, even if it was all in Italian. He appeared to be fluent (or just confident) in both pronouncing and explaining all of the meals that were on the menu that night.
The space is really cozy; the ambience was great. They didn’t tell us yet about pricing, but looking at the facility and quality of food, I’m sure it’ll be in a higher price range, but let me assure you that it will be well worth your money (I didn’t get compensated to say these things).
Thank you again Tutto Bono for inviting me, thank you all of you guys for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed it and find this post helpful! I’ll see you on my next one!

I bet this restaurant will be a hit only for very short time and then slowly it will die lonely as always. Surabayans are not ready to throw their cash for good quality foods and good ambiance. Surabaya is just a town that wants to be seen as cosmopolitan. There so many unfitnesses to be cosmopolitan.
Ce, where is the menu? 🙂
I would really appreciate it if you could tell us the estimate range for the price in every single review you've made 🙂
Just a smiling visitant here to share the love (:, btw great design.
