Have you been noticing that Bali street is getting even more packed and jammed up all the time? It’s because on February 12th, The Goods Diner had just launced there! This restaurant has been around in Jakarta for several years now and I was one of the lucky ones that got invited before the opening to try some of their menus which I’m going to share with you all today 🙂
The Goods Diner
The Goods Diner Surabaya, was originally from Jakarta, and it is a part of The Goods Dept. I honestly didn’t know about any of it before this, so I don’t actually have much thing to say about it as well. All I know is that The Goods Dept is a lifestyle brand that sells fashion items from head to toe, and they are expanding the brand by creating The Goods Diner for the restaurant, The Goods Cafe, for the cafe and just last night, they also soft launched The Goods Supply!
As far as I know, The Goods Diner Surabaya is the first The Goods Dept brand that opens outside Jakarta (CMIIW), and they picked Bali Street, in the center of Surabaya to be the place they’d run the business. It is a really busy street, and it’s already packed since The Carnivor opened a few months back, and now, the street got jammed up after The Goods Diner launched their soft opening. I drive pass the street almost everyday since I work part time at Common Grounds, so this is from what I know.
The Goods Diner Surabaya has a pretty huge space, size wise, it’s more like Domicile exclude the VIP Room. In front, they have a small section for The Goods Dept store, but when I came there, it’s still closed. The dining area can fit to a hundred people inside, but I couldn’t cover every part of the dining area because some of them were still covered with plastic. Nonetheless, the interior design is like a diner with a touch of bright soft colour, which is nice.
Before I get into the food section, I would like to apologize to you guys because when I went to The Goods Diner, I was completely in a rush. I just finished a job in Tutto Bono in the morning, I arrived at The Goods Diner at 12.30 PM and I had to be in Common Grounds at 01.30 PM for my part time barista job. So to be real honest, I didn’t actually eat anything here, I only took pictures of the place and the foods, then I rushed to Common Grounds.
The Goods Diner Surabaya offers mostly western menu, aside from that, they also have weekend brunch from 08.00 AM to 04.00 PM and special menu for your kids. Another thing, they have Goods Coffee, milkshakes and floats too! Price wise, it’s on the higher side; Foods starts from 45k to 225k while Drinks start from 20k to 85k. I would say, each person has to bring 200k-300k to get the best out of it. 🙂
Goods Coffee Rub (100k)
Goods Mac n Cheese (60k)
BIG OLE MEATBALLS (75K)
Goods Big Caesar (75k)
General Tso Chicken (55k)
Angel Hair Shrimp Scampi (95k)
That’s all I got for you about The Goods Diner Surabaya, I’m sorry if I couldn’t say anything about the foods (yet) but I’ll be back to try 🙂 I still hope this blog post somewhat helpful though, hehe.. Let me know in the comment section if you have visited The Goods Diner Surabaya and already tried some of their menu, sharing is caring! I love you guys so much and I’ll see you soon on my next post, xoxo.
