Melbourne is no stranger to great coffee, there are plenty of cafes to choose from in every corner of the city. However, if you’re looking for somewhere that’s not only serving up a delicious cup of joe, but also looks great doing it, then you should check INI Studio in Carlton!
INI STUDIO
INI Studio is a specialty coffee shop in Melbourne located on Queensberry Street, Carlton
, just a little up north from the CBD
. It is one of the best spots to enjoy a cup of coffee if you were in Melbourne. Kiyong Jung, a skillful barista who has been in the Melbourne coffee scene for a while created this sleek all-white space in April 2021.
I have been to INI Studio many times throughout 2021, it’s just one of those coffee shops that just draws you in every time you’re nearby. They have a nice space, lovely ambiance, friendly staff, and of course, great coffee. They’re using Five Senses blend for their white coffee, which is one of my favorite coffee roasters in Australia, but if you’re into Filter Coffee, then you are in for a TREAT
.
If you look at their open bar, Ini Studio spoils you with a variety of pour-over filter coffee selections, such as limited-release beans from Five Senses, imported beans from Momo’s Coffee in South Korea, and some fine beans from Terroir Laboratory. I once tried one of their Geisha, and I honestly thought it was tea, I couldn’t believe my palate knowing that a cup of coffee could taste very clean and fruity!
In addition, Ini Studio also offers other sweet drinks (hot chocolate & matcha) and a variety of pastries. The friendly staff there is always happy to explain the coffee selections and will help you choose the perfect one according to your liking. I usually would always choose their filter coffee since it’s kind of their specialty.
At the time of my last visit, I came there to catch up with Megga early in the morning and I wasn’t really planning to do anything else than record a vlog. But once I arrived and saw that the shop was still mostly empty, I felt like it was just perfect timing to sneak some photos for the blog before the rush hour kicked in.
Overall, INI Studio is a great spot to visit. I would highly recommend you to have one of their filter coffee selections, it could be a little bit more expensive if it’s the rare or the imported beans, but it’s worth at least once to try. Whether you’re looking for an amazing cup of coffee or just a place to chill with a friend and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, INI Studio is always a good idea.

Have been reading a few of your posts and they’re super helpful. I am always looking for decent cafes to sit and work in, and love to mix it up. Thanks for this!
Thank you, Jo! 🥹🙏 I’m glad it helps 🙂
I’ve been browsing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.
To the laurangelia.com owner, Great job!
