Collingwood is a Melbourne suburb known for its great food and coffee culture. The suburb has a diverse range of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Collingwood is also home to some of the best coffee in Melbourne. There are numerous small cafes that specialize in coffee, and they serve up some of the most delicious cups you will find, ACoffee being one of them.
I’ve been to ACoffee several times in the past years, and it’s without a doubt one of my favorite coffee shops in Collingwood. But today’s trip is a special one because I am on a mission to see Jeff, who I used to work alongside with in Dumbo. He is currently working there as a barista and I came to pay him a visit together with Meg, and Danny.
ACoffee
ACoffee is a boutique coffee roastery based in Collingwood, Melbourne. They have been around since 2017, and also have a second showroom in Seoul, South Korea. What I really love about ACoffee is first and foremost how clean and simple the space is. It’s made up of white walls with wooden paneling that’s both minimalistic and pleasing in the eye. Second, which is certainly a major factor, is how delicious their coffee is.
Although I am usually gravitating toward a stronger, and more flavorful cup of coffee, Acoffee’s approach to producing lighter roast coffee has a special place in my heart. I feel like, since the space is really cozy, and the coffee is fairly light, I could sit there longer, and allow myself to enjoy a few more cups.
The menu is very simple in ACoffee, with your typical coffee order, black or white coffees, as well as other non-coffee selections. They also have some delectable pastries from Cobblane to nibble on. But what I would really recommend you to try is non-other than their pour-over filter coffee.
ACOFFEE MENU
After living in Melbourne for a decent amount of years and trying different types of coffee, I have grown a lot of respect for people who love drinking filter coffee. Five years ago, my shallow self would’ve called them out as snobbish, yet now I have become one myself. But on a serious note, I believe that like if you really want to savor coffee as it should be enjoyed, having a good quality filter coffee is the way to go.
From there, you’ll start to learn about the origin of the coffee and the typical flavor profile of that particular area. You’ll begin to notice how different processes result in different tastes, and soon enough, you’ll be able to pick a favorite farm and roasters. Eventually, you’ll build up a lot of appreciation for everything these people do in order for you to enjoy the most delicious coffee today.
And for that, you won’t even look at the receipt anymore. They can charge what they need to charge, well at least that’s the case for me.
Anyway, if you find yourself in Collingwood, make sure to stop by ACoffee. It’s perfect whether you’re looking for a place to have some coffee and relax solo or with a friend. The baristas are also great conversation partners if you’re feeling chatty. I’ve even seen influencers taking ootd photos here because of how minimalistic and clean the space is.

They also have coffee beans on the shelf up for grabs to top up your coffee at home. If you fancy a smooth-tasting lighter roast coffee, ACoffee will get you covered. Let me know what you think about this place, and thank you so much for reading today’s blog post.
